Synopsis

Deaths attributable to preventable causes are rising among Australian adolescents and young adults. Mortality research has neglected deaths during this missing middle developmental period between childhood and mid-life (years 10-39). The TIME Consortium will draw together nine cohort studies from Australia and New Zealand, capturing >1000 deaths during this period, to explore risk factors for early death. This work will inform the development of strategies to prevent premature death in Australians.
